  • Itchy's Thought

    Rachel Lev

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, March 23, 2016)
Itchy’s Thought is a children’s book that assists children between ages 9-10 in their-decision-making process by utilizing critical thinking skills. This book takes children through a 4-step decision-making process. The first challenge itchy confronts in the story is succumbing to peer pressure and to the “group think” of the “Orlicks.” The Orlicks like to control things. They prefer money and social climbing over community. In the book, the "Pips" - are Itchy, the owl, the tree, skunk, and a bird. Itchy’s Thought promotes environmental conservation by showing how building a road in the forest will affect the lives of the plants and animals in the forest. Guided by the wise Owl and his own intuition, Itchy employs a 4-step process of critical thinking in making hard decisions. By the end of the book Itchy successfully makes decisions on his own. As a psychotherapist, I have worked with children and families for many years. My knowledge and experience lend me the ability to write this book.
